In April of 1999, Bhai Jagjit Singh founded and established the Sikh Missionary Society of USA. Since then, the Sikh Missionary Society of USA has been successfully providing religious services to the Sikh Sangat in the Bay Area and beyond. The Sikh Missionary Society of USA is a non-profit and non political organization that is fully committed to preaching the divine message of the Guru Granth Sahib that is for all mankind.

For 13 years, Bhai Jagjit Singh served as the Head Granthi (Priest) and and Head Raagi at Gurdwara Sahib Fremont (Sikh Temple). During his tenure, he preached the message of Gurbani and performed Gurbani Kirtan for the Saadh Sangat (congregation). Sikh Temple Fremont is one of the largest and most prominent Gurdwaras in the United States. Bhai Jagjit Singh extended invitations to many prominent figures during his tenure including Giani Sant Singh Maskeen Ji and Bhai Harjinder Singh – Sri Nagar Wale.

Shahid Sikh Missionary College (SGPC)
Bhai Jagjit Singh received his formal education and training in Sikh History and Gurbani under Principal Harbhajan Singh Ji. He received training in semi-classical Gurbani Kirtan under Professor Avtar Singh Naz. Bhai Jagjit Singh also served under SGPC Sikh Mission Center in Hapur and Meerut U.P. after his graduation from Sikh Missionary College.
Classical Vocal Training

Ustaad Salamat Ali Khan
To add further depth and enhance his semi-classical vocal abilities, Bhai Jagjit Singh received classical vocal training from the late Ustaad Salamat Ali Khan and his son Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan. He was fortunate to officially be granted Shagirdi by Ustaad Salamat Ali Khan.
During this period, Bhai Jagjit Singh extended invitations to Ustaad Ji to perform classical Gurbani Kirtan at Gurdwara Sahib Fremont.
